tamishirabe is a quiet study of Japanese aesthetics —
expressed through textile, time, and transformation.

In Japan, textiles have long held meanings beyond their surface.
Motifs were not chosen at random,
and materials were shaped with intention.
Each piece carried a sense of season, symbolism, and quiet beauty.

Over time, many of these textiles have lost their original context.
Kimono are no longer worn as they once were,
and their stories risk fading into silence.

tamishirabe exists to explore and preserve those meanings —
not as something fixed in the past,
but as something that can continue to evolve.

Through this space, I share the philosophy behind Japanese aesthetics,
the language of motifs,
and the materials that give each textile its presence.

At the same time, I reinterpret these textiles into new forms —
allowing them to exist again in contemporary life.
